Accreditation of a laboratory means that the laboratory has undergone third-party on-site evaluations against a standard, in our case ISO/IEC 17025. This audit ensures that the lab in question has the proper systems and documentation in place for inventory, receiving, labeling, tracking, calibration, standardized testing, and data reporting. In addition, accredited laboratories  must maintain proper documentation, training, and standards compliance for periodic review.
